About Jed

Jed is a 5th-generation resident of Kendall County. He married his high school sweetheart, Melissa, over 24 years ago, and together they have four children and two grandchildren. They currently live in Newark. He graduated from Lisbon Grade School, Newark High School, and ultimately Valparaiso University with a degree in civil engineering.

Jed and Melissa are also passionate foster parents, opening their home to several children over the years. This experience has profoundly shaped Jed’s understanding of the challenges facing families, strengthening his resolve for policies protecting parental rights and providing every child with opportunities to thrive.

Jed is currently serving as an Illinois State Representative, sitting on the following committees: Adoption and Child Welfare, Appropriations General Services, Appropriations Health and Human Services, Energy and Environment, Judiciary – Civil, Labor and Commerce, Mental Health and Addiction, Domestic and International Commerce Subcommittee, and Job and Workforce Development Subcommittee.

Jed has served as Board President of Parkview Christian Academy in Yorkville from 2010 to 2023 and as Village Trustee of the Village of Newark across multiple terms.
